3rd #Ulog: A Flashback To My Best Summer Experience
Back to the reality of being confine again within the four corners of my beloved classroom. Have to redecorate, update lesson plans, create visual presentation, accomodate enrollees, accomplish forms and records will surely take a toll on my time to brush unkeep hair, do make up and even relieve myself from the call of nature.
It seems the hangover of summer festivities still linger on my synopsis.
While leafing through my phone to delete some junks, I stumbled upon particular pictures which I can say was the best summer experience.
It was not actually the numerous stay in the beach that left printed on my mind, rather it was the cold river and mountain resort experiences.
A week before my 30th birthday last April, I gave an out of the city present for myself since it's actually the first time in my three decades of existence to dip in some cold fresh water rather than the salty sea.
I have chosen to take my first stop at the very much known Pines Farm Resort at Brgy. Abuyugon, Burauen, Leyte. Entrance cost for adults is 20php and 10php for kids.
A good hike of ten meters or more before the resort from the road will make you catching your breath yet your tirednes will get rewarded when you see the breathtaking freshness below.
It is evidently shown here how the town Burauen got its name. It actually originated from the waray word "bura" which means foam or water foam referring to the smooth cold bubbling water cascading from the big boulders.
The place was so good with all the greeneries around yet to my surprised there was no single pine there. Upon further inquiry with my companions who are good friends and a local of the town, they enlighten me with the fact that pines was actually the family name of the owner(daw).
I've got the time of my life doing some exaggerated posed, selfies and swimming as if I'm a fresh water nymph.
There were several cottages that cost 300php to 500 depending its size. There were umbrella tables too. Though lucky for us, since we arrived late at around quarter to five in the afternoon already, we just used it free.
There was one ominous rock that surprised me since my name Rhan was engraved on it. My husband gamely took a pose for a picture leaning on it then.
Safe and contented, me and my husband decided to spent the night at Jeffa's Resto and Inn in town. At a cheap price starting at 1200php with a free breakfast for two. There was a good room accomodation too with a single maternity bed, hot shower, air-conditioned room and a tv cable connection.
The sizzling sisig was the only add-on that we paid for 120php for our sumptuous breakfast with fruits for dessert and a glass of nestea for each of us.
I was then excited the next day since we planned as well a trip to Cansiboy Mountain Resort. It's an hour ride from the town proper. We rode a "habal-habal" motorcycle on our way there.
When we arrived at the place at around eight that morning, you can actually say that you're in Baguio City since it seems fogs are already within reach and the climate was rather cold.
In comparison to Pines Resort, you have to hike up with a fifteen feet distance from the entrance instead of going down.
We just brought along a yellow fin fish and three kilos of marinated pork meat that we barbecued there with a gallon of native "tuba",a coconut wine.
That was a great time with our friends. We were unmindful of the cold water and never get tired dipping in it. It was so refreshing! Taking away our hangover from the previous night.
We rode back to Tacloban City later that evening. Still in cloud 9 and was still euphoric with the never can't be forgotten moments.
The places that we've been unto was somehow cathartic since we got home smiling and very much unmindful of the physical exhaustion the trip caused us.
It was nature at it's best.
A real wondrous creation of our Almighty.
To Him be the glory!
Hope you love my adventure too.
Truly yours,
@drahries
