Love and relationship 2.

In an earlier article, I talked about the word love; how people define it more from the place of their experiences more than they would from the dictionary. I also talked about the enormous desire and the strong craving for love by everyone both the young and the old. I went futher to explain what love is not. You can read up that article with this link.
In this article, I intend to focus on what love is.

One of my most favorite dictionaries defines love as an intense feeling of affection and care towards another person. I love that definition and it’s great. However, i agree totally with the definition I got from a friend about love.

My friend, Kachi Ugo is a star writer who has published several fiction books. You could search him up as you would be so amazed at his work. That is by the way, Kachi Ugo defines love as an expression of care and selflessness towards someone or something. I agree with that definition because it carries the word “selflessness”.

Selflessness says it all; when love is selfless, it is not asking for anything in return. It is just loving and being selfless. Love is an expression of feelings however its beyond feelings, its expressed and selfless feelings. I said that to say that when it is love, the expectations are very limited. The lover is not expressing love to get anything in return.

When someone expresses love and expects sex in return, it is no more love. When money, respect, exposure is expected in return for the expression of love, it is no more love. You may be saying that if that is the way it is, then no one can really truly love. Well, my response is simple; that is the way it is and true lovers exists. The beautiful about love is that it can the recipient melts before it because of the selflessness that it comes with. This means that overtime, the recipient becomes very generous toward his/her lover. The recipient would want to fight for his/her lover because he/she knows that lovers are scare.

Having established that, some people would want to say that there is nothing like love, love does not exist. Much research reveals that folks that say such have certain negative experiences that would have led them to that conclusion. These folks have experienced painful experiences for instance, we have reports of ladies who were raped by their own Dads, and I mean ‘biological dads’. Some of them had their hearts broken by those they really loved and trusted. Others were duped of their hard earned money by the ones they loved.

The pain from these experiences most certainly led to the conclusion that love does not exist but the conclusion is not true.
