#Ulog Day 57: My Day :)

Today is day one of the weekend.

I slept in... for once. I had been invited to work, but I mentioned that I had been staying late at work almost every day.

Other people we making jokes about not going, so I jokingly said that my girlfriend ate my car keys. I stayed home with my girlfriend and we talked on skype for the next few hours. When it was time for her to go to sleep, I went out to go get some food. I wasn't sure what to get. I had gone to an HEB store but I couldn't make up my mind as to what I was looking for. I left for a while and headed off to my grandma's house. She wasn't there so I gave up and went back to HEB. I picked up some frozen food to cook later.

After I had lunch, I decided to do some work on my virtualbox project. For a long time, one of my uncles wanted me to set up a system for him but first he wanted me to see how well system backup images had worked. I had never actually backed up a computer before so today was my first time doing it. I started the process and saved the backup at another location.

Afterwards, I wiped the virtual machine and then restored the backup from the image I had created earlier. I was impressed. Everything was exactly as I had left it. I called my uncle up and showed him what I had done.

Afterwards, we used that software to recreate a way for him to run old software on his new computer. It took a lot of time as I had to install several programs and then they needed to be updated.

As soon as I was done, I thought to myself, why is it that I can't do this for a living?

Not long after, my girlfriend woke up. Things went normal until she got to school. The calling service that we use for direct phone-to-phone calls changed the amount of minutes that would be allowed on the package. It's very frustrating. It feels like it's getting harder and harder for us to stay in contact affordably.

I told my girlfriend,

"I think we better get you out here before there is no calling service available."
