"Yes (the attackers of the two police stations on the Cipali Toll Road were arrested). The Director of Reskrimum (West Java Regional Police Commissioner Umar Fana) had reportedly captured all of them," Kabareskrim Inspector General Arief Sulistyanto said when confirmed by reporters on Monday (3/9/2018).
Arief has not detailed the arrest. According to the report he received, the number of perpetrators caught by 4 people. "He said four people, but he explained to Mr. Dir," said Arief.
Two police officers named Aiptu Widi and Aiptu Dodon were injured due to being shot by an unknown person. The incident took place on Palikanci Toll Road near the Mertapada Toll Gate, precisely at Km 224. At that time Widi and Dodon saw that there were three people sitting on the toll road on Friday (8/24), 21:30 WIB.
The shot fired by one of the perpetrators lodged in Dodon's chest and hand. Likewise with Widi, who was shot in the hand.
Aiptu Dodon breathed his last in care at the National Police Hospital on August 28. Aiptu Dodon was treated at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta.
National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian previously said the perpetrators were a group of Daulah Ansharut Jamaah. The shooting motive was allegedly due to revenge.
"We already know that he is a member of the JAD group. Why did he do the motive? He already knew that his father-in-law was arrested. His parents-in-law were also arrested first a month ago. So he might take revenge. Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, Friday (31/8).
