#ULOG Daily Devotion (Day 3): HOLDING ON AND STANDING FIRM ON WHAT IS TRUE

2 THESSALONIANS 2:13-17, NLT

[13] As for us, we can’t help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth.

[14] He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

[15] With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter.

[16] Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope,

[17] comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say.

REFLECTIONS

In today's generation many people are attempting to deceive others by simply making their "lies" as the absolute truth. There are a lot of "False Preachers" around us claiming that their "lies" are indeed the "truth". As a person and as a follower of Christ we should STAND FIRM and HOLD ON on the truth through:

1. KNOW the Truth -- The Word of GOD (v.13)
   "...God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth."
   You will not stand on something that you don't know, same as you will not hold what you don't know. KNOW the truth by reading the Word of God.

2. RECEIVE the Truth -- The Son of God (v.14)
   "now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Jesus told him, “I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." (John 14:6, emphasis mine)

1. LIVE in the Truth -- The Good Work (v.17)
   "comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say." Applying the Word of God in our lives.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank Yu for speaking the truth--Your Words--unto us. "Lies" are rampant nowadays with the purpose of contaminating our faith towards You. I'm sorry if sometimes i believed those lies and not examined it. Help me O Lord to stand firm on what is True, to hold on unto it through Knowing it, Receiving it in my life, and by Living in it consistently. In Jesus' name, Amen!
