#ulog weekend: Hunting Meat On The Day Of "Makmegang" With His Wife

On Wednesday 16 May 2018 in Aceh-Indonesia a day called "Makmegang" was held. Makmegang meaning that is the day before before fasting in Ramadan, people simultaneously do its tradition that is day to eat meat. This is done to equalize between the rich and the poor. This tradition is done very long and every month of Ramadan comes.

There Wednesday, my wife and I are looking for meat untum bought in Darussalam district, Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh district. Darussalam is the closest place to my in-laws house Tungkop. There are quite a few meat sellers and meat that sells dominant beef, but some also sell buffalo meat. Buffalo meat at the time of cooking smells of buffalo smell, so we focus on meat kebau only. We buy 1 kg of beef located on the thighs and 1/2 kg of the content in the cow ie the liver. In Ramadan this time, the price of meat is quite expensive compared to last year. Last year the price of meat per kg averaged Rp. 110,000 to Rp. 150.000, but this year the price is slightly up Rp. 160,000 to Rp. 180,000. We were lucky at that time, we got the lowest price of Rp. 160,000 per kilogram.
