#Ulog Day 47: The Forest In The City

Good morning.

Yesterday, my daughter had no classes. After our brunch, we decided to visit the forest in the city or what we call the "Hobbitat Forest Park." It is located in Bangcusay, San Fernando, La Union Philippines. It is not that far from our place. I've heard about the park from a friend and saw the pictures on Facebook. I was very curious how it looks in person so when I had the chance, I grabbed itimmediately.

By the way, hobbits are just fictional tiny characters like dwarfs and they are first appeared in the novel, "The Hobbit". Their houses are small and I am guessing this is where they got the idea of Hobbit Houses. If you are a fan of "Lord of the rings", I am pretty sure you guys have an idea how these houses look like.

So here in my province, we have The "Hobbitat Forest Park" that offers tiny cute houses for recreation and a place to unwind and get away from the city's busy lifestyle. They have lair-conditioned lodging along the slope of the hill which are hobbit-inspired single room cottages. Very pretty. They also have camping area where you can spend a night with your friends and loved ones surrounded by huge trees. You can bring your own tents if you don't want to rent a room. You can build bonfires as well. They also offers a great view-deck and a picnic ground with tables good for 10 pax. An art-hub is also included and a cafe where you can sit and and enjoy your snacks. There are no jeepneys yet going to the park but you can hire a trike. Entrance fee is 35Php , picnic area is 1000php per shed, 2500php and up per air-condition cottages, camping is 300php per person and tent rental is 500php good for 2 pax.

Pretty much, that's it. My daughter enjoyed it and was waiting for the hobbits to come out lol. I told her, they're probably asleep. Poor kid. Of course, as a forest and nature lover, this was a soulfully splendid experience.
