ULOG: 08 "Online gambling internet cafes was earned USD 67,567 per month arested by police in Solo"

Central Java Regional Police dismantled the practice of online gambling with a turnover of USD 67,567 per month. Gambling uses internet cafes (warnet) for gambling nests.
The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dit Reskrimsus) of Central Java Regional Police raided 2 internet cafes on Jalan Juanda and Jalan Abdul Muis Solo on Friday (31/8).
There are 5 suspects in the internet cafe that are the gambling den. They are Haris Budi Prasetyo (29) a resident of Joyontakan, Solo; Rinto Kurniawan (28) a resident of Mojolaban, Sukoharjo; Andhika P (31) a resident of Banyuanyar, Solo: Romi Septian (20) a resident of Randublatung, Blora; and Ahmad Zaerofi, a resident of Gadung Tulung, Belangwetan, Klaten.
Central Java Regional Police Chief, Insp. Gen. (Pol) Condro Kirono said, in addition to the 5 suspects, officers also secured 29 CPU units and their monitors. Some money is also secured as evidence.
"Evidence of TKP 1 is USD 608 and TKP 2 is USD 338 ," Condro said at the office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Regional Police, Jalan Sukun, Semarang, Wednesday (05/09/2018).
The gambling practice that is done is that the cafe visitor gives USD 7 to the cashier to be exchanged for a username and password. After that the warnet contacted the online gambling server in Jakarta so that customers could start gambling.
"There are conventional gambling such as back jacks, poker, rollets, casinos. There are also gambling," he said.
Online gambling sites used by a judidan site have actually been blocked by the government. However, the cafe manager has a router so that the website can still be accessed. "This turnover is USD 67,567 per month," Condro said.
Head of Sub Unit of Siber Unit of Directorate General of Central Java Police, AKBP Teddy Fanani, added that his party was still tracing the mastermind of the onine gambling. According to him there are other actors in charge of taking gambling money.
"We are still in the process at the moment. There are unknown actors who take money," Teddy said.
The perpetrators were charged with Article 7 Paragraph 2 of Law No.19 / 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) with the threat of 6 years imprisonment.
