ULOG (HOWTO): Prepare Beans Porridge.
Beans Porridge is one of the top ten foods for Nigerians. It's a proteinous food love by both adults and children. Though beans can be prepared in many ways, Some people prepares their beans separately and prepare sauce for it. Some people also people also add carbohydrates rich foods to it, examples are : Rice, Yam, Plantains, Potatoes, Cocoyam are fee among others.
This particular recipes is for stewed beans porridge, it can also be serve with rice, Yam, potatoes, plantains , garri and among others.
- 3 cups of beans.
- Pepper mix (Chili, and Onions)
- Smoked Catfish.
- Palm oil.
- Onions (chopped)
Wash your beans, place in a clean pot and cook for 5 minutes in a low medium heat.
Bring it down and sieve out the water, put clean water and continue cooking.
Add your chopped onions, and salt then continue cooking.
After an hour 30 minutes, check it out for softness, then add your washed smoked fish and crayfish, allow to cook for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, add your palm oil according to your taste, cover and allow to cook for another five minutes.
Add your blended pepper and allow everything to cook together.
Serve with Plantains, Yam or Rice when ready.
