#ulog (day53) July 24, 2018 " Garlic Water Spinach (Kangkong)

Garlic Kangkong or Water Spinach is a famous recipe in the Philippines. This recipe is made up of sauteed kangkong or water spinach added with more sauteed garlic and little amount of oyster sauce just to make it' more delicious and shiny.

Yesterday I am craving green vegetables so I went to Lulu supermarket and bought water spinach for only 3 AED. I prepare the ingredients to make this garlic kangkong recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh kangkong or water spinach.
  • Minced garlic
  • Green Chili
  • 1 spoon oyster sauce
  • Cooking oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

Procedure:

  • Remove the water spinach leaves from the stem and separate the leaves.
  • Wash the water spinach leaves and stem.
  • Prepare a cooking pot and boiled the water.
  • Add the kangkong stem boiled for 1 minutes and follow the kangkong leaves boiled for just 30 seconds. This makes the kangkong remains on its green color.
  • Take from the pot and drain the remaining water.

  • Prepare a frying pan.
  • Add cooking oil.
  • Saute the garlic until it turns to light brown color.
  • Add the kangkong stem stir for 3 minutes.
  • Add the kangkong leaves and green chili, mixed together and stir for 2 minutes.
  • Add black pepper, salt and oyster sauce, mixed together for 1 minutes.
  • Take from the frying pan and served hot.
