Ulog Entry #3: Barangay and SK Electiond 2018
The Barangay and Sanguiniang Kabataan Elections of 2018 has officially commenced and ended yesterday May 14, 2018. And I could say, barangay elections would always be tiring to all educators who are serving.
It has also been draining for all the candidates who ran as well. I have seen how my younger brother. I, for one had a fair share of experience being part of barangay officials in our hometown at Macabalan, Cagayan de Oro City.
If there were digital camera decades ago, I might be able to share some of the memories that made a huge impact on my life as a barangay official.
I , for one, as an administrator has served multiple times not just during barangay but also during national elections.
There had been a lot of struggles particularly on transporting ballot boxes before. We then transport it around evening or until midnight so that it would be collected by the COMELEC or Commission on Elections after counting the votes. It was and will alway be a risk because in our country, Politics is a big thing.
Our school's faculty and I were tasked to take part on the BSKE2018. We were told to take the election parapheralia first at Lumbia School before the sun rises but it came later than that.
The election proceedings in every precincts went well. The time for election cut-off was three in the afternoon.
We then secured the ballots and started the counting of votes few hours after.
In the photos above, the teachers were busy doing the counting of votes while the representatives of the candidates were closely monitoring the procedure and the results.
Meanwhile, in this photo, a teacher was tasked to tally he votes. You can clearly see that it requires a lot of focus despite the fact of that we were all tired the entire day.
I would just like to say to all the TEACHERS of Bayanga, Kahanga-hanga my sincerest gratitude and deepest appreciation for the time, talents, treasures and tasks extended in making the Barangay Election of Bayanga, CDOC truly peaceful and systematic.
The tiresome and grueling delivery of our mandate enable us to be better person and a work in progress. My salute and God bless us and enlarge our influences furthermore.
I am looking forward to a more systematized elections for the 2019 senatorial and 2022 for the national elections. I am also looking forward that there would be mature platforms that would be pursued by the elected officials all for the growth and development of the country.
