TODAYS SITUATIONAL SUMMARY & ceasefire violation report from Ukraine War "Rebel" Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) E. Basurin. 12.02.2018

"Over the past day, the enemy increased shelling of the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic. Infantry fighting vehicles were used more actively.

Donetsk direction. In the areas of settlements SPARTAK, ALEKSANDROVKA, DOKUCHAEVSK, PETROVSKY district (Donetsk) the enemy used three 82 mm mines. Various types of grenade launchers, small arms and the BMP weapons were used.

Gorlovska direction. In the area of the settlement Zaitsevo the enemy fired NINE 120 mm mines and THIRTEEN 82-mm mines.

Mariupol direction. The areas of settlements KOMINTERNOVO and DZERZHINSKY were under attack. The enemy used 120 and 82 mm mortars firing FIFTEEN mines. Various types of grenade launchers and small arms were also used.

NINE violations of the cease-fire regime by the AFU were recorded over the past day.

Today, at 8.25 from the position of 54th Mechanized Brigade in the vicinity of the settlement Novolugansk, the enemy with all the inherent cruelty shooted up settlement DOLOMITNOE.

The work of the inspection commission of the General Staff of the Armed Forces was noted in the divisions of 54th Mechanized Brigade. Exercises with the command of 54th brigades are planned for today. The commander of this brigade, the war criminal Maystrenko decided to conduct the exercises in the conditions close to the combat ones. In this regard in violation of the Minsk agreements intensive firing of the settlement is taking place. At the moment, fifteen 120-mm mines and forty-five 82-mm mines have been released. The destruction of the civilian infrastructure and affected civilians are being specified.

On the night of February 11, from the positions of the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Armed Forces, mortar shelling was carried out on the territory of the Donetsk filtering station. One mine broke the roof of the water purification building and exploded inside. The second mine exploded near the utility room, glass blocks were damaged. Only by a lucky chance there were no casualties among the station's employees. The supply of water to the territory of the Republic and to the settlements occupied by Kiev is carried out in the regular mode.

This is not the first attempt of the AFU to disrupt the functioning of civil infrastructure facilities, including the Donetsk Filtering Station and to create a humanitarian catastrophe leaving hundreds of thousands of people without water. The leadership of Ukraine in every possible way ignores the calls of the OSCE to move away divisions from life supporting objects.

In the area of the settlement KRASNOHOROVKA the arrival of snipers of up to 10 people was fixed. The action of five sniper pairs is marked in the area of responsibility of 30th Mechanized Brigade in the areas of settlements KRASNOHOROVKA and MARINKA very close to the outskirts of Donetsk. The Ukrainian military command threatens the lives of civilians. The sad experience shows that the Ukrainian snipers do not think much about the choice of the target."
