Ugly Fruit Project: Pepino II
Here we have an aerial view of our sweet cucumber. Do you like the colors? I find them amazing. But I like the more the texture, it is super soft and has some rugosities.
Until now, this is my favorite ugly fruit. Because its shape is totally different from the common one. If it not were by the colors it would not be recognizable as a sweet cucumber. It has grown totally different from what is expected :)
NOT FUN FACT: According to FAO, 6% of the losses occur in Latin America and Caribbean, which is 15% of the available food.
NUTRIOTIONAL FACT: Since sweet cucumber is high in vitamin C and A, is a good antioxidant. Vitamin C helps inmune system to stay strong and it improves colagen quality. While vitamin A helps various organs, such as kidney and heart, to work in the way they should.
Remember that you are all invited to post your ugly fruits :)
