I dont think a fight with such rules would make sense. I think that the popularity of UFC (especially in Europe) over the years has risen especially because it runs way different from the professional boxing. Mayweather has nothing to offer to the sport of MMA in my opinion.
UFC has certainly gained in popularity over the past 10 years. Mayweather brings $$$ to the pockets of the promoters and that is likely why if Mayweather wants special rules in the Octagon .. UFC will likely do it. The new owners of UFC seem to be all about the money lately.
