Where UFC went wrong!

I'm sure many of us here have watched the Khabib and Mcgregor match, many of us have differing opinions of what happened after the match, but we can all attest to one thing is that UFC changed from being sports and entered a realm into drama. It's entering the territory of current Smackdown Vs Raw drama wrestling, soon in the UFC there are gonna be actors and showmen instead of fighters and this what the Mcgregor and Khabib matched exposed.

This match was pretty hyped up, especially pre fight tension was quite high from Mcgregor smashing a bus window and that awful press conference where Mcgregor is just relentless at doing whatever it takes to get into Khabib's mind and rattle him. That press conference did nothing to Khabib and it only solidified his anger and reason to beat the shit out of Mcgregor in the Octagon.

However, this all just confirmed a truth to me that lay hidden in all of this! that the UFC was moving away from being a fighting sport and into a drama sport with a lack of sportsmanship. In sports it's very important to show sportsmanship and be ethical, you keep politics and religions and any other bullshit aside from the sport.

"It's business" is not an excuse to diminish the lack of sportsmanship and it certainly isn't and excuse to explicitly insult their fathers, nation or their religion. It was a messy pre fight confrontation and it lead to a probably some Long lasting nasty sentiments amongst the fighters, the teams and their fanbase.

Whatever happened afterwards was only the cause of what happened before, if whatever happened before had been prevent, then the whole debacle afterwards can be prevented as well. If any sport turns into a show sport then it's spirit of sports is lost and we wonder why we even watch this.

End of Rant.

I agree that the ugly pre-fight behavior on the part of McGregor was responsible for the after-fight drama and violence. Another aspect to consider in your assessment of what the UFC is devolving into, is that its own judgment against and handling of the situation was hugely slanted, holding Khabib responsible, while not applying the same treatment to the actual culprit, McGregor, imho. Politics has been allowed to ruin the beauty of sports in general, starting with the Olympics and working its way down. Thanks for posting you rant.

I explained that in my post that the UFC is just a drama sport now, there is a lack of spirit in sport or sportsmanship.
