Tony Ferguson is Cleared to Fight - But who will his Opponent Be?
Tony is cleared to get back into the game after 6 months. Tony has a ten fight win streak but the problem is who will he fight? Conor is fighting Khabib and Nate is fighting Dustin. Any other match would be a step down. The only other money fight is Max Holloway, but I am sure Max is going to want the the money fight which is the winner of the Conor - Khabib, or if Nate beats Dustin.
The only "safe" move for Tony, if he is going for the money is to wait for the winner of Conor and Khabib, but that will mean another 6 or so months on the shelf.
If he's smart he should do what Kevin Lee is doing and get training ready to step in on October 6th in case someone drops out.
I believe if Conor or Khabib for any reason pull out either of them against Tony is a fight more people would want than against Lee.
I think its likely he won't be fighting until after the Conor / Khabib fight takes place unless its a gimmie type of fight. He likely gets matched up with Khabib regardless of if Khabib wins or losses.
Nate vs Conor will likely be Conors next fight win or loose.

Agreed he will likely end up waiting until the dust settles from Conor/Khabib,..another 6 months is good for him to get back in fight shape, and then get a full camp in ahead of a possible title shot.
Man I hope he comes back fully healthy, this guy is just so damn talented..
