The 1986-87 Champions League was the 32th version of this tournament. It was held between 17 September 1985 and 27 May 1987.

31 clubs competed in the tournament. 57 matches were played with 163 goals scored. An average of 2.86 goals per match.

Four clubs were able to qualify to the semi-finals of the tournament; Porto, Dynamo Kyiv, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

The final game of the tournament was held in Prater Stadium, Vienna, in 27 May 1987 between Porto and Bayern Munich. The Portuguese team was able to win the the final game 2-1. Porto clinched their first European title.

The top goalscorer of the tournament was given to Borislav Cvetković from Red Star Belgrade with 7 goals scored.
