Community: Strength In Numbers
Happy Friday my friends!!
Rather than some of the usual awesome Friday challenges we all participate in... I wanted to touch upon a different topic today...
Since the first time I decided to join this awesome community, I have tried to focus on "something" to really be part of. Or maybe I should say, like many, I have tried to find a "groove" or "usual" thing to be doing. Now I know many are dedicated to certain groups, communities, or initiatives... and I am very glad they are! There are so many that it would be hard to call out each and every one of them. We obviously follow those certain members, that we feel are a positive force to this Steem'verse; thank goodness for free will. As I mentioned, I had been trying to find my path, and slowly, I have fallen into what I feel is good "path". I have been fortunate to be chosen as a writer for the @steembasicincome group, and soon after, as a Moderator the #steemterminal Discord group. With @steembasicincome, you have the way cool @josephsavage who is trying to create the ability to provide a basic income to every Steemian. With the #steemterminal, you have @xcountytravelers, @brittandjosie doing the @heyhaveyamet initiative, welcoming new Steemians into the community, providing positive and helpful information.
Community
From the Merriam-Webster dictionary: " a group of people with a common characteristic or interest living together within a larger society" Source
I'm sure you can agree, this Steem'verse is indeed a group of people that are together with a shared interest. And the people I surround myself with, have this very concept at heart. This place isn't about "quick money" as some may think. To me, its an opportunity for future incentives. Much like planting a flower... it's not going to bloom overnight. You have to work at it, care for it, with the mindset that... if you do your best to provide a positive environment for your plant, in time, it will grow to be a beautiful creation. This too should be the mindset coming into this Steem'verse. I am reminded of the motivational story told back in my days of being in the Boy Scouts. The Pack Leader taking one stick from the ground, and snapping it with ease. Then... taking a large bunch of sticks, joining them all together, they are almost impossible to break. This was, of course, a visual example of...
Strength In Numbers
I'm limited most times, in regards to the posting; I really try to post every day. But more often than not, I am unable to accomplish this due to my Multiple Sclerosis. But... this is where community, and strength in numbers comes in! If we all realize that we are stronger working together, than finding every reason to "butt heads"... there's no telling where we might end up! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and don't forget; this Sunday is Mother's Day!
Thanks for sticking around to read this post... it kind of goes against my usual photos and poetry content. But I wanted to jot down my feelings on things that are important. Now, time to unplug and relax!

Great post, the communities on here make such a difference and the support they give is excellent
Thanks for being an active member of SteemUSA !tip
I agree my friend! Like I have said, SO many people here in this Steem'verse... we have Discord, with the many groups within it. Then challenges and tags, for specific day's of the week, and topics to include. One could see how a new Steemian could be "very" overwhelmed!
This is where we must step in... like this post I created implies... community is only a "community" because of the PEOPLE within it. If the members of a community are dedicated to be helpful, positive, and willing to adapt to change, then what a place it will be!
As always, I truly appreciate your comments and upvotes... tip... but more than that, being a wonderful example of what a "community" should be!
Yes indeed, if we all do our bit to help the community grow it is good for us all, I dont see me being wonderful or anything lIke that I just do to others as I would like done to me if that makes sense :)
Damn fine article @wesphilbin!
Brought up some excellent points, especially for the new Steemians!
Thank you, my friend!! I swear I was trying to make a point here. Sometimes my mind wanders, as does my ability to type lol... I appreciate your input as well as your friendship!!
This review is a perfect example off Some ody close to the platform, you write, inform and reach. You are a addition and a friend keep up the great work and remember that we need quality not quantity and 5 out of 7 is huge. Tip ! Its Ulog 😉
Darn!! I thought I had that TAG right! Oh well...next time lol...
Thank you as always for such kind words... I feel strongly that we must all work together... lift up others when they aren't strong. 5 out of 7 indeed... less is more? Anyway... thank you, my friend...
A fine selection of communities to be active in! ❤️
I couldn't agree more! As I mentioned, TOO many to mention (a nice way to say my memory isn't like it used to be) in one post. But I have met SO many wonderful people, and that number grows each day! Friends... and I am glad to call you one :)
I agree! There are so many wonderful people here! I hope you are feeling better.
