The terrible word "mentality". It is believed that it explains everything. Who knows? But somehow he remains aloof when he is inevitably responsible for his actions. Take our elevators as an example. In some house they are cleaner, in some - more dirty. Where there are cleaners, then, of course, cleaner. Where there are no such miracle people, then the dirtier ones. Although sometimes self-organization and cleaning in turn by the residents of the house themselves occur. Here is the rule of "mentality", or maybe simply lack of culture and education, because you can remind and nobody knows. And no fines or penalties will enter into force.

Now, take the street and throw garbage past the garbage bin. In our favor, the "mentality" comes a meager fines and inaction in this regard by the police. But this is not always so, and to help in such cases have come fines and those who it executes. For some reason, it seems that the mentality only humiliates, saying: "And what to take from them - such a mentality." I would like this statement, if it was true, to some other community, and the Ukrainian community was cultural. That we wanted to be like us and impose us.

Страшне слово "менталітет". Вважають, що воно все пояснює. Хто зна? Але якось він залишається осторонь, коли є невідворотною відповідальність за вчинене. Візьмемо до прикладу наші ліфти. В якомусь домі вони чистіші, в якомусь - брудніші. Де є прибиральники, то, звичайно, чистіші. Де немає цих диво-людей, то брудніші. Хоча інколи трапляється самоорганізація і прибирання по черзі самих мешканців дому. Тут працює правило "менталітету", а може просто відсутності культури і виховання, бо можна нагадити і ніхто не дізнається. І ніякі штрафи чи покарання не вступлять в силу.

А тепер візьмемо вулицю і кидання сміття повз сміттєвої урни. В нас на допомогу "менталітету" приходять мізерні штрафи та бездіяльність в цьому плані поліцейських. А закордоном на допомогу цьому ж "менталітету" в культурних країнах приходять ой які немізерні штрафи та "діяльні" поліцейські. І виходить, що менталітет тут перестає бути визначальним, бо в таких країнах бояться кинути недопалок, плюнути, чи просто кинути сміття повз урну всі: іноземці, місцеві, культурні, безкультурні, з менталітетом і без. Добре, коли люди чи дуже схожі на них, самі по собі чи кимось виховані та свідомі. Але так буває не завжди і тому на допомогу в таких випадках мають приходити штрафи та ті, хто їх оформить. Можна і просто дати прочухана, щоб поламаною рукою було важче смітити, але тут вже відповідальність може наздогнати і окультурювача, а він же від чистого серця.

Чомусь видається, що менталітетом тільки принижують, кажучи: "А що з них взяти - такий менталітет". Хотілось, щоб це висловлювання, якщо і було правдивим, то до якоїсь іншої спільноти, а українська громада була культурна. Щоб на нас хотіли бути схожими і нас наслідували.
