Gorgon stretched as much as his stone body would allow. Soon...very soon, he would be free! Free to roam the earth again and wreak destruction upon it.

They all would pay! All those who had helped with his imprisonment would beg for their lives as he sucked the very life out of them. Their families would also pay the price for their treachery.

Forgotten at the backend of civilization, frozen into stone at the topmost floor of that great tower of old, Gorgon had waited a long time...a little over three hundred years.

At a time, the sound of his name was enough to sent fear into the heart of the very brave but now, he was sure, his name would have been forgotten. Thought of as a legend, as if he never existed.

It was all that evil witch's fault...and he would start with her after his escape.

The thought gave him so much pleasure that the sound of laughter rumbled like thunder across the chamber where he was imprisoned.

The prophesy was about to be fufilled in about a few hours. Everything would go perfectly well.

It had been so easy slipping into the girl's dreams for the past few months.

Foolish girl that had no idea what powers she possessed. She was the chosen maiden for the century. She had the power of the gods in her veins.

Her blood could do anything, and she would be his to use and direct. She would help him take over the world and together, they would rule the world!

His cold hard heart warmed at the thought of ultimate victory. He craved power like the very breath that kept him alive.

He thought of Scarlett, his beloved sister, that beautiful witch whose spells shook the world.

She had created a counter spell on that terrible day he had been trapped by the legion.

Their spell had doomed him to remain as stone forever but dear Scarlett would not have it so. She had tried to save him and had died trying.

The legion had killed her with a pitchfork through her dark heart, yet with her dying breath, she cast the last spell of her life;

With the last drop of my blood and the last breath in my nostrils, i speak to Gorgon encased in stone. On such a day when the solstice and full moon shall arise, with a drop of blood from the chosen, he shall be free of his prison, never to be bound again, ruler of all times. So i have spoken, so it shall be. So mote it be.

Tears dropped down the cold dusty floor just beneath the the statue. It was surprising Gorgon's heart was capable of tears but he had love for only one person in the world. His sister...and she was dead.

Hatred was all that was left.

The solstice and full moon was tonight. The chosen was on her way, everything would be the way it should.

He reached out with his mind and saw her coming.

Guided by forces she could not understand, she searched for something which eluded her. All she knew was she had an obligation to fufil that night and time was running out.

Gorgon smiled, ever so evil and opened himself to her.

His spirit served as a beacon for her as she cleared out of the forest to find the tower, beautiful and majestic with the sun going down behind it.

She smiled as she started towards it, eager to know what secrets it held.

Present day
"So what happened?"

"How come he is here at this museum?"

"Did it really happen?"

Little voices asked.

The woman smiled.

"Little dears, you should know that evil would never prevail over good. The legion were not asleep. They had been watching and waiting. They stopped her just in time. I would give anything to see the look on Gorgon's face when he realised his plan had failed."

"I am sure he would have thrown a tantrum like a child and call for his mummy, like my baby brother does." A little voice chirped from the back, causing laughter all around.

"Come along, children. Time to go home. I hope you enjoyed your time here today." The woman said as she ushered them out of the room in the museum.

She did not see the little girl who stayed behind, watching the statue intently. She could not explain the feeling she had but she would be back soon.

"Goodbye, Sir Gorgon. I would be back soon and together, we would rule the world."

Gorgon watched her go, hope blossomed. She was the chosen born for in the new century.
