Wow!! You really capture epic themes and mythic vibes! Ulysses, the sirens, the long journey, and the awesome sci-fi twist. I love this: they were in the galaxy of Madam Maxine, on the edge of the horizontal universe...it was very small, since it consisted of four planets.
You also weave in elements of the horror genre. "Twilight Zone" mingled with The Illiad and The Odyssey. Well done!
