The show turned out to be the freshest thing in the DC line-up. It really did its best to steer clear of the Arrow/Flash/Supergirl formula and actually tried new things. No traditional team with a super hacker, no forced romantic interest. It felt like it was its own thing and actually had something to say about inequality from a point of view that wasn't as condescending and tumbler-level as Supergirl tends to be.
Had some issues with the music, though, when there was a vocal artist trying to sing what was happening in a scene... it was just plain bad. But it compensated with some classic quality stuff, like Kung fu fighting.
For that reason I was hooked, seeing the whole family evolve in new and exciting ways can really spice up the story. Not every song was great but it is something different you don't see every day, that Kung Fu fighting scene was great :)
