The Terror Review

The Terror is a new TV Show based on the same named novel. Story of the Terror is a true story about English explorers who tried to find a new route from England to far East through a northwestern passage in mid 19th century, they didn't make it and they were lost. The novel and the TV Show used that true story and adapted it to be more horror based and supernatural. That move proved to be good for the show, even though the true story would be interesting on it's own, audiences today need to be shocked for show to make any kind of success. This show will shock you at times, some scenes are very gory and could even be compared to the Walking Dead ones. Both shows came from AMC so yeah, expect to see some nastynes.

As both ships were being trapped in the ice in one of the most inhospitable environments on Earth, the crewmen of both ships the Erebus and the Terror need to survive one of the worst winters ever recorded. Not only that they were plagued by the elements, lack of good food, poisoning, scurvy, mutiny, and cannibalism, they are being hunted by one of the scariest beasts seen in recent television. Torture porn slightly, survival where all odds are against you, and you might get an idea what this show is about. Acting was great, the details, the monster, everything was done with finesse. This is a high end Tv show with interesting and disturbing story based on real life events.
If all that didn't attract you to check this show out, or to read a book, this show might not be for you. For me it was a tense 10 episode horror that made me go, damn that was something else. Absolutely worth it 9/10.
