The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Review

This might seem like a chick flick TV Show because the main character is a lady, but the show is absolutely not what it seems at the first glance. This is a show about stand up comedy in the 60s, and me being massive fan of stand up this was a must watch for me, and oh boy did the show deliver. Not many will know who Lenny Bruce is or was, in this show he is an actual character, add few points just for that fact. Lenny Bruce was one of the first iconic stand up comedians (I might write something about Stand Up Legends in the future) and he inspired many of todays comedians. But this show is not about him, it is about funny mrs. Maisel, a housewife whose whole world came crushing down when her husband left her, in her drunken night out she stumbled upon a stand up stage and began doing her thing.

The jokes in this show are top notch, there will be offensive ones that will even send her to prison. The jokes are funny and you will be laughing at the stand up comedy and all the funny characters in her family, characters like her dad excellently played by Tony Shalhoub. Ever wonder why there are so many Jewish comedians? They are a funny bunch of people and this show proves that point in every one of eight episodes. Her manager was also one of my favorite characters of the show, a small woman with sarcastic snark in her every word made the show even better. Actress Rachel Brosnahan playing Miriam "Midge" Maisel is a stunner and she took the show by the balls, you will be seeing her a lot in the future. Ultimately the message of this surprisingly good TV show is you never know who you are until you end up in some life trouble, and this lady sure stirred shit up, very interesting TV Show worth the watch 9/10!
