Impulse Review

Impulse is one of those not so typical TV Shows based on super powered individuals. This one flew under the radar and is not known to huge audiences, mainly because this is not from Marvel od DC comics. The style and pace of the show feels like Breaking Bad with the small exception of teleportation powers.

Yeah, our main hero Henrietta Coles has a power of teleportation, and unlike many super powered stories this girl is freaking out because of it, specially because it manifested during a rape. She did not stab her assailant, she crushed him with the space time teleportation bubble. This is how it all begins for her and it gets very interesting later on.

Holding her own against a crime syndicate and discovering she has a power is not something that will leave positive traces on a teenage girl. This show goes to many dark places which definitely makes it more mature than the rest of PG13 TV shows you can see on television these days.

Is it a ground breaking leave your mouth open on every new scene show, not really, but it is something you should check out if you feel a need to watch something new. First season is watchable and of course it ends with a fairly intriguing cliffhanger that kept me interested for the second season that will come somewhere in 2019. Score: 8.4/10.
