Listen / Read / Watch - #1 Schitt's Creek
Welcome to a new series called Listen / Read / Watch.
I’ll be sharing whatever podcast, book, album, TV show or movie I’m currently submerged in. Hopefully it will intrigue you to listen to something new on your way to work or at the gym. Maybe it will introduce you to something to binge watch on Netflix and I have just ruined the rest of your weekend plans.
Today’s watch - Schitt’s Creek.

Quick summary: The Roses are a wealthy family who suddenly find themselves losing everything when they find out their business manager failed to pay their taxes. Leaving with only what they can carry (necessities such as former soap opera star/wife/mother Moira's beloved wig collection), they set off to their only remaining asset - Schitt's Creek. Yes, it's pronounced exactly like it looks. Schitt's Creek is a town purchased for their son's birthday as a joke. The Rose family must now face living in the town's rundown motel, finding a way to make ends meet and getting along with the town's residents.
Here's what you need to know:
The cast is fabulous - it's like you've dropped into a Christopher Guest movie. Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara (who I love) are perfection. Levy's real-life son Dan also plays his son David on the show and will most likely become your favorite character. Annie Murphy plays daughter Alexis in a very funny Kim Kardashian-meets-Paris Hilton kind of way. You will also love the dynamics between David and Stevie, the motel's sole employee.
The Roses have traveled from New York to Anytown, USA. You never actually find out where Schitt's Creek is but wherever you live, you KNOW that town.
The first 3 seasons are currently on Netflix and season 4 is currently on the Pop TV network, but also available to purchase on Amazon.
If you like quirky casts and a quick binge (episodes are a witty, lightning-fast 21 minutes each), go watch Schitt's Creek!
