Haven't had time to do any comprehensive reviews of media for a bit, but a couple things from the last week or two.

"Nyad" is the best sports movie I've seen this year. Much better than The Boys in the Boat. Very inspiring. Recommend.

I stumbled on the Farrelly Brothers' show "Loudermilk", starring Ron Livingston. The show is about an curmudgeonly AA counselor who runs a weird and eclectic group while trying to get his own life back together. It's really smart and well-written, and just my kind of "dramedy" -- real pathos + genuinely good humor. On Prime.

Also on Amazon, and surprisingly also produced by the Farrelly brothers, I saw the first season of "Lucky Hank", starring Bob Odenkirk. Very similar tone, but about a curmudgeonly English professor / department chair at a mediocre college. Also real pathos + genuinely funny. Recommend.

I'm finally watching Foundation S2. Generally good, but I cannot tell you how much I hate the Queen Sareth -- the woman who is to become the new Emperess. She is one of the least believable characters I've ever seen. She's clearly trying to deceive Emperor Day, but she's immediately way too cocky, brash, and insulting. She constantly does stuff that is incredibly, overtly suspicious, and at the point we're at in the show, she hasn't even gone through with the marriage yet... so she has no actual power, but she's already given away her true intentions.

A well-written version of this character would be Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones. She knew she was walking into a hornets nest, and played a long game in secret, subtly manipulating people and moving Margaery into a key position, all the while plotting her own revenge.

The girl in Foundation is both a weak actress (or is being poorly directed, or both), and the writing for her character is terrible, so she just does stuff that would definitely get her killed in like 2 seconds, and yet somehow Emperor Day is still going through with this nonsense.
