StarTrek: The Lesbian Feminist Edition

Here's the order of the cast showing up in an average episode. Woman, woman, lesbian, trans, black woman, metrosexual alien, white male, woman, black male, gay man, gay man, alien, woman. If you are watching the show you know exactly what I mean.

I used to be a big fan of Star Trek. Like most people, It has created a special place in my heart. One of my favorite parts was the diversity of the early crews and how people and aliens from different backgrounds could come together and solve problems. The messages were strong and well delivered.

I can't say the same thing about StarTrek Discovery. From the beginning it was evident that diversity wouldn't cut it. Imagine if Star Trek was turned into a crew of almost exclusively males bossing women around while there was no sign of gays or women in power.

Well, the entire opposite happens with StarTrek Discovery. From the ship's Bridge to sickbay, from the Klingon empire to alternate universes women rule everything, every time, all the time. They have the highest positions, constantly bossing around irrelevant male cast while the proportionality of gays and even gayer aliens is mind-boggling. Even incompetent and border-line obese women are portrayed as able to keep up with exercise regimes. Half the scenes remind a soap opera where feelings matter more than action. The acting is horrible. It seems they payed more attention in filling position with women, gays, blacks and lesbians rather than hiring deserving actors. The propaganda is also embedded with the story line. White males are almost always evil and the women always, I mean ALWAYS, come into the rescue.

There is really not much more to day about where entertainment is headed.

Sort:

It's all propaganda now. Not subtle , either, but right in your face. On a more positive side (hopefully), the show AO on Netflix threw a bunch of cryptocurrency, blockchain, etherium, and bitcoin references in people's faces.

There's still a trans person, though. They have to have one in every show now.

StarTrek Discovery - a soap opera set in space.

I am just waiting for some child on the ship to be sent to magic boarding school (starfleet acadamy) and return all grown up.

But really, Star Trek was about exploring ideas and working out problems. Both are very male-centric.

So, i could envision a female-centric "Star Trek"... but instead we have an abomination. Where you have "men" in female bodies... acting male, but not being masculine or feminine. Where the problems are waved away with a magic wand.

This show is awful for a man. This show should be banned by all caring women, as this PROGRAMMING will make more women even more unhappy and miserable.

On a kinda similar note, it seems in all shooter video games I play COD, the division, ghost recon etc, the missions commanders are all women barking orders for murder. The way games are made nowadays filled with so many repetitive tasks it starts to feel like one long honey do list
