IS Apu a racist stereo type

The simpson's character Apu has recently been put under the microscope for being a racist stereo type, and not something that should be on tv.

I look at it as harmless laughs but others have pointed out the view that an indian character voiced by a white man isnt right. though it is only voice acting.

If they take Apu out of the simpsons they will need to take countless others out of the casting, characters of any ethnicity, such as carl, krusty, fat tony, and others, because they are based on outlandish stereotypes that where funny in the years they were produced.

I dont think they should cut him from the script, but i also dont have to live with being indian and getting these stereotypes cast onto me.
