Have you ever tried to make a cake without following a recipe? If you've been baking for a while, you'll probably be fine. If you haven't ... it may be another story. It could turn out like sludge or like a rock. It could be the best thing you've ever made or completely inedible. Or maybe you'll just suck it up and eat your cake, just because you took the time to put it together.
Now Making cakes is like writing a quality post on steemit --
This is how it looks.

There are certain guidelines you should follow if you want to end up with something great.
In fact when i joined steemit,I started off with posting whatever and however I could and didn't bother to think about giving credit where it's due or what my post would contribute to the Steemit community. Spending time going through post that I like and doing research on how I can be better at posting. The big main advice was to post quality content.
SO
In our steemit world where the quality of your blog content is only increasing in importance, the fabled #Low post commonly gets a bad rap. It's unfortunate, but definitely understandable. You can easily drown in a sea of particularly low-quality, low-value lists posts.
First, let's talk a little bit about common #misconceptions about Quality posts on steemit. Then we'll dive into the characteristics of high quality ones so you can start squashing the myth that all list posts are sub- bar ... by writing awesome ones!
In my Opinion
I think many would say the writing of an article or post of high quality would have a large part when considering something to be quality content. The format, spelling, grammar, etc. Certainly a professional writer could create what people consider to be quality content. Would that apply in Steemit?
No no NO !!
There are those that blog and post for a living so a lot of this is really simple for them. So does that mean if we are not professionals that our posts are not considered quality content?
But wait. Every Steemit expert agrees that the secret to Steemit success is creating quality content. And you're creating quality content, right?
So ... why are most of your content still failing?
Simple: Your definition of "quality content" is completely wrong.
Anway the thing is, People love classic posts! They tell the reader what -----and how much of it
They're also easy to scan, and with so much content available on the Steemit these days, being able to scan a post and still grasp a helpful nugget or two of information is highly valuable.
One of our fellow steemian said'
"Steemit is growing and will continue to grow as long as the quality of content is maintained. Quality and quantity are both factors, but quantity is of no value if it has no quality." @bycoleman
Since i read his quote, have been trying to post contents that passed my standards of quality. Also, I always encourage my fellow steemians to post quality contents. Unfortunately some folks haven't answered my call.
In this post, I'll show you what are the elements that I think will distinguish a quality content from just an ordinary content. This is not to discourage or diminish the efforts of my fellow steemians, but to inspire and motivate them to always aim for quality in their posts.
It has to be Valuable.
Let's go back to the quote above.
Steemit will grow and will continue to grow if quality is maintained. This is because value is being added to steemit. Value can be relative depending on who assess the inherent properties of the content, but we are in the digital age.
NOW in this era
Great blog posts that add value to the community and are rewarded more. Even if you do not receive enough upvotes due to the ongoing scarcity problem, you will see a massive increase in engagement on your posts with time.by posting quality content which adds value to other people, you will do yourself a favor because people will start following you and look forward to your posts. Engagement is the greatest indicator of quality.
Remember every post you publish will be recorded to the blockchain,
This is also the reason why negative and other derogatory posts are discouraged because they will be forever in the blockchain and they don't add value to the platform.
Remember these two rules in life:
You get what you pay for.
If you don’t have anything useful to say, then don’t say it at all.
It Has To Be Engaging.
Your post must be well-written. And it’s not enough to have perfect grammar and spelling; it needs to be personal, interesting, and interactive.
Try to let your personality shine through in your writing. Don’t be afraid to write in a conversational tone. Personal stories and anecdotes are a great way to make your post more engaging. @Yallapapi posts does a solid job of being
personable.
It Has to Be Long BUT not too long.
This is a bit trickier. Some say agood posts should hover right around 700 words. Others say anything less than 1,000 doesn't cut it.
The truth is both simpler and more complex.
A post should be as long as it needs to be. By this, I mean that it should be as long as it takes for you to succinctly and clearly explain your idea, concept or thought to other users .
If you can write a well thought out, complete article in 400 words, that’s great. If you can keep it interesting, engaging, relevant and informative all the way to 1,500 words, then it’s still a great blog post.
In the end, as long as you offer quality, pertinent information in a readable and engaging manner consistently your posts should do well, hopefully fostering a sense of steemit community along with helping build a personal connection with your readers.
It Has To Be with a Clear Title.
As I mentioned in the beginning of this post,
one of the reasons people have always loved quality posts is because they know exactly what -- and how much -- they'll get out of them.
There is no guesswork involved, and expectations you've set for your readers are very clear. Make sure your title epitomizes that. An effective list post title should accomplish two things in order to entice readers to actually read the post: 1) capture the readers' attention and 2) clearly indicate the value or what the reader will learn, and 3) indicate how much they will learn with a number.
It Has To Be With The Right Tags.
Tags are extremely important for a post; without them, your content has no chance to be found after the first few seconds it is shown in the New tab. You can use up to 5 tags, the first one being your main category and the most important tag.Try to use your tags responsibly and relevant to your content. @jaraumoses's post has a clear explaination on this-----This Is A Must Read For Every Newbie :Explained Guide To Steemit Tags
A good post shows passion for the subject.
The great thing about this one is you dont have to do anything to make this happen. It just does. That is, if you really care about your topic. Now, if you chose a blog niche because it looked like a good one and you DON'T know or care about the subject " oops.
Passion for a topic shows in your writing. Its a natural progression from enjoying the subject to writing about it.
It Has to be well formatted.
I'm not as strict about this one as some post purists, but in general, I agree that your post should have a consistent and parallel look.
Failing to do so only confuses readers,In-fact Each post needs a short introductory paragraph that gives an overview of the post topic, Each post also needs a short conclusion that summarizes what the post was about. Short paragraphs also make a post easier to read and subheads are a great way to segment dense paragraphs.
AKA simple Advice
Don’t get discouraged! Don't give up.
Learn and implement your knowledge to boost your skills as a writer or whatever it is you are trying to do to create quality posts that reach the eyes of many viewers. Viewers response to your post creates quality even if what you create reach and resonate with 1 viewer. Would you agree?
I like original content. The worst mistake I see people making here is using too much copy and pasting. Some people just post photos and videos created by others, they're not adding anything to Steemit.
@sharpshot i truly agree with you, Spammers will gain nothing, trust me.
Nice job my friend and yes, this was a quality post.
Thanks for the mention and best of success to you on your Steemit Journey.
