RE: DTutorial #45 - The Alternative to Dtube Love (For Beginners and Advanced)
That's depends on you. The truth is that YouTube is very competitive because it has been there for ages. Is it impossible to become successful on YouTube? Heck no! There are still people who became successful even though they started 1-2 years ago. On top of my head, success insider, he started 1-2 years ago and he now has over 100k subs. You need to take into consideration some factors such as the niche that he was targeting at, the skills he has, the experience that he has accumulated over the years. So, if you really want to become successful on YouTube then go ahead and niche down and be very specific. Know, however, that the game has changed on YouTube since there is this new policy where you have to have 1000 subs within a year or 40k watch time or else you can't monetize your videos anymore.
Dtube, on the other hand, is decentralized. Nobody is controlling it. No sensor ship, no ads. On top of that, it's new (6 months old, if I'm not mistaken) you would be one of the early adopters. As they say, early adopters always have the advantage. The best part is the community. In my personal opinion, you can't find such community anywhere on the social media platforms. If you do find a similar one then please share it with me :D In addition, you get rewarded if you get upvoted, even if it's just 0.01 cents, but it's still more than nothing, right? How much do you get from Facebook? Or twitter? Or Instagram? Or even YouTube? Yes, unless you have already built your fan base there then that's something else, however, if you are a beginner, most likely, you will be getting NOTHING.
So, the only question is do you want to be YouTuber real badly? Or a dtuber?
If you are still not sure then I would try both of these platforms and see after one month which one is better.
Hope I was able to help you out.
Winny out...for now ;)
Thank you for the very descriptive and informative reply. It makes sense now. I have 2 channels on Youtube but you are right the motivation niche is probably one of the most competitive niches on Youtube so it will be very difficult to get millions of views on my videos which is required to make a dent in the motivation niche. I think I may take a step back and try Dtube. It can't hurt me. Thanks again!
