Tutorial and thoughts about formatting options for posts in two languages, such as german/english
Hello Steemians!
Because I want to write my posts in German and English, I have come
up with a few variants or saw how this could be implemented best.
(dieser Beitrag in deutscher Sprache:
Tutorial und Gedanken über Formatierungsmöglichkeiten für Beiträge in zwei Sprachen wie z.B. Deutsch/Englisch)
I would like to introduce these first in a "mini tutorial". Afterwards I open
with my thoughts about these a discussion round for everyone were interested in
it ;)
Variant 1
A table that separates the languages into two columns, example:Here is a lot of great and interesting text which all your readers will hopefully like. So much the better and interesting your posts are, so more followers and upvotes you get, isn't that great? But do not forget to check out the posts of other Steemians! |
HTML-Code:
Variant 2
The translation is written in a blockquote to different it clear visually, example:Here is a lot of great and interesting text which all your readers will hopefully like. So much the better and interesting your posts are, so more followers and upvotes you get, isn't that great?
But do not forget to check out the posts of other Steemians!

HTML-Code:
Variant 3
You write again the same post under the first post in the other desire language.Variant 4
Two separate posts will be published. One in the first language and
another in the translation. In the upper area of the respective post, do you link
the post in the other language.
(I did this for a
test with this post.)
My thoughts about the variants:
Variant 1: I have noticed that's a bit expensive to write the HTML code
for it and sometimes the lines slip a bit because the text have different length.
Also, you can't set the table columns on the same width because Steemit seems to
ignore the HTML code for it. Also, every second line have a slightly grayed
background, Steemit show this independently, but maybe this increase the
readability (?).
Variant 2: By longer texts it pulls apart the contribution quite strongly and the reader must skip a language constantly. In posts which contain only little text I can imagine this variant however well.
Variant 3: Here, the images would probably be inserted twice, combined with long texts creates a "monster scrollbar" until you reach the toolbar below the post.
Variant 4: I saw this by another Steemians. Of course, this variant
leads to posting each post twice, is that bad or even more conducive to getting
more upvotes etc.?
A great advantage of this variant is that's limited the comments in one language
thus the reader understands all.
I would be glad to hear your opinions which variant you like more!
Or do you even know a better one?
I would be happy about an assessment from the "senior Steemians" here :)
You like the post? Others should read this?
Then I'm were happy about a "Resteem"!
