in #tutorial6 years ago (edited)

Greetings Steemit friends welcome to my small space in this great community, today in the beauty section of my blog, I want to talk about a very old product which has many uses and benefits, it is starch or starch. Corn, also known as cornstarch, is a fine corn flour that is used in the kitchen to prepare atoles, baby food, give body to the sauces, overflow fried foods and prepare a wide variety of desserts, has a mild flavor, is delicious and we can give you many uses besides gastronomic.

Corn starch provides multiple benefits in the skin, using it as talc combats excessive sweating of the body and prevents diaperitis in babies, relieves irritation, burning and itching. On the face it can be used as loose powder for oily skin or prepare a matifying tonic to control the oiliness of the skin, recipe here.

This powerful food is a source of iron, phosphorus, zinc, calcium, magnesium, potassium and vitamins of group A, B, C and E. Surprising as it may seem cornstarch can also be used in hair to keep it healthy, because the scalp and the hair fiber are part of the skin and require nourishment.

This time we will prepare a hair mask using only one ingredient, the star product of the day "cornstarch", I assure you that in your kitchen have a valuable treasure. It is an economic treatment to moisturize, strengthen, smooth, reduce frizz and excess fat in the hair. Let's get to work and start.

Recipe.

Ingredients:

  1. ½ cup of water.

  2. A spoonful of cornstarch.

Note: For abundant or long hair double the measurements.

Preparation:

Dissolve one heaping tablespoon of cornstarch in half a cup of cold water, once we obtain a liquid mixture and without lumps, bring it to a low heat in a small pot, stirring constantly until obtaining a homogeneous cream, turn off the heat and let stand.

Application.

When the cream has cooled naturally we apply it in the hair from roots to ends in abundant form, wrap it with a bathing cap or a plastic bag, let the mask act for 30 minutes and wash the hair as usual.

Results.

The result that we can first notice is a feeling of softness, the hair feels smoother, combing it will be easier and will need less heat to dry or iron it. The second result we see is a healthy and natural glow that lasts for several days. It is convenient to make this mask twice a week, I assure you that you will love the result. The best part is that this is one of the most practical and economical treatments you will find.

Really enjoyed reading this blog @breili, everything is laid out nicely with easy to follow steps; I myself am always looking for natural solutions to beauty products and this is a great tip!
You get the same effect if you save the water after cooking rice and use the water to wash your hair as rice is high in startch also. But then you would have to eat a lot of rice!

It's not rice, it's cornstarch.
