Making Steemit better a minnow at a time (XI) - Reward Payouts and what to choose and why
Hello dear Minnows,
Today I'm going to explain you the 3 different ways to choose a Payout Rewards selection and what it makes sense at what time to grow faster as a Minnow.
The standard is Default 50% / 50% and is selected in advance by Steemit.
This option divides the payout into 50% Steem at market value and the remainder into SBD. Here we will come back later to go into detail.

There is the option Decline Payout.
For this there is no payout and the whole payout returns to the reward pool where it is split between the other posts.
This option is more for the accounts with the most followers, or a lot of SP if they want to post something and do not want to span the reward pool. The founders of Steemit, for example, could post this way. It is not intended for minnows and I would not recommend it for beginners.

How? With this selection, you get 50% on Steem Power based on the average value of the last 7 days. The rest is given to you in SBD but at the internal pegged value of $1. For a few months, SBD has been well over $1.
For a simple calculation, we assume the payout after Curation indicates $6, with Steem and SBD equaling $3. You get 1 Steem Power and 3 SBD which has a value of $12 USD instead of $6 in contrast to the one with the option 100% Power Up. With the 3 SBD, you can then buy 3 Steem and make twice the Power Up than with the other option.
If SBD goes below $1, a 100% power up would make a lot more sense.
I recommend Minnows until they reach 1000 SP not to withdraw any SBD.

I'm so glad I found this article. I did my last few posts as 100% power up to see what they did. Haven't noticed much of a difference. That's a pretty simple rule to follow "if SBD is less more than a $1 do 50/50 if not 100%" I have a long way to go to get 1000 SP lol.
Thank you for the advice, I was searching for this information. I was not sure if it is ok what I do, to receive 50%-50%..but now I`m certain that I chose the right way.

Since SBD will never fall below 1, it's best to keep it at default.
this is a serious work for beginner steemit. unfortunately, there was not much explanation I had when I joined in steemit a month ago. if only this post was earlier rising, certainly I followed the advice to not pull anything before my powes steem 1000. But it happened. Thank you for this post. Good job.
Great post. Very informative and detailed. Doesn't your account have to have a certain amount of SP to be able to change this option? I think at 36 I am still too low to take advantage of this. Although the default is what you are recommending anyway so I should be okay.
