KOMPAS.com - Until Saturday (09/29/2018) morning, there have been 91 aftershocks post-earthquake magnitude 7.4 (previously mentioned 7.7) on Friday (09/28/2018).
"An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 is the 91st aftershock since the earthquake in Donggala yesterday afternoon," BMKG Head of Earthquake and Tsunami Center Rahmat Triyono told KompasTV on Saturday morning.
According to him, out of the 91 earthquakes, BMKG did not get information on how many earthquakes were felt because it was difficult to communicate from the field to get information.
"But there are likely to be dozens because there are three of them which are big and those with a magnitude of 5 shallow earthquakes are likely to be felt," he continued.
Rahmat also said that the community was calm because the tsunami warning was over.
Yesterday, he continued, there were two warning levels issued by BMKG. First around Palu on alert level with the threat of water height of 0.5 meters-3 meters. Both in the alert level are less than 50 cm.
"We also got a record of 6 cm in Mamuju and became the basis for the warning to end. The tsunami threat was not significant. Because the one in Palu had already happened and until Mamuju became a warning, the tsunami was gone," he said.
