One Nation, Different Yardsticks
Privileged groups work for greater power consolidation through favoritism. ― Bryant McGill, Voice of Reason
In 2018 Indian election, the single largest party in Karnataka which happen to be BJP got a chance to form the government, but not so in Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Bihar, Goa because their single largest political parties are non-BJP? This seems to be the case, I'm afraid. It would seem that at the moment different yardsticks are applied for different parties or states.
The governor invited the BJP in Karnataka to form the government on the ground that they are the single largest party, whereas the single largest parties in other states haven't been accorded with the same gesture.
In Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, leader of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of the state on March 8, 2018, while the NPF said that they should have been granted a time period of 15 days to prove their majority on the floor of the house. Mr. Rio, in 2018, broke away from the Naga People's Front to join the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party and tied up with the BJP.
