I'm going to explain my stance on transsexuals in the military. It is a choice and it does not belong in the military, solely based on the psychological issues a transgendered person suffers in their lives.
Do I mean transgendered people are somehow mentally defective and that's why they are transgendered? Not at all. I believe that gay, lesbian and transgendered people don't wake up one day and decide to be that way. It must be a horrible existence for them. Never feeling as if they belong, even in their own skin. Could you imagine the level of pain they must feel to pay someone to hurt and alter them forever?
That level of desperation comes with psychological damage. Depression. Rage. Loneliness. All of those emotions they have to deal with gets unloaded on a shrink before even being considered for surgery. Therapy has to continue through and well after gender reassignment has taken place.
The government of the United States is not responsible for a decision, a CHOICE, to have the surgery done. Especially when there are combat veterans who can't get proper medical care. Combat veterans are doing without so someone can have their penis cut off? Not just no!!! HELL NO!!!
