Do you agree with Berkshire Hathaway that Bitcoin is truly Disgusting, Detestable, Noxious Poison?
Are we witnessing serious hostilities between old generation thinkers and this new generation and their innovative high tech ways of doing things?
Well, check this out. Recently, during Daily Journal's shareholder meeting, Berkshire Hathaway's vice chairman Charles Munger is usually involved so as to give his overview of economic issues. For this special Valentines day event, the 94yrs old right hand man of Warren Buffett took the opportunity to savage the world's number one cryptocurrency, Bitcoin which to many of us is the one true King.
As if this is not enough, Check this out "Berkshire Hathaway Wants Cops Unleashed on Bitcoin"
ahh... this guy needs to learn a lesson from Thailand. You don't insult the King without some serious repercussions.!
Well, according to the article posted in Bitcoin news by C. Edward Kelso,
If it’s not a religious affair, it sure has that feel. The grand cardinal of retail finance, Charlie Munger, was plopped into a chair, and assembled hordes gathered to hear investment wisdom from the Oracle of Omaha’s saintly priest. To say Mr. Munger is a successful investor is to place too general praise on the man: arguably he is among the most bankable gurus of all time.
From Los Angeles, Mr. Munger came right out with it and in his own words asserted that:
“I never considered for one second having anything to do with [bitcoin], I detested it the minute it had been raised. The more popular it got, the more I hated it. It’s just disgusting that people have been taken in by this.”
Interestingly, in the over 2hrs interview, this old guy took time to defend banks like wells Fargo et al and suggested that
government regulators had gone far enough in efforts to get it to right past wrongs; indeed, Mr. Munger suggested regulators had done too much. Wells Fargo was accused of creating fake accounts to buttress numbers, adding automobile insurance charges to customers who didn’t ask, and monkeying with mortgage extensions.
However, when it came to Bitcoin, he asserted that;
“Our more relaxed approach is wrong”, he spat. “The right answer is to step on it hard. It’s the government’s job,” he urged, characterizing it as a “noxious poison.” He seemed to approve of alternative payment systems such as We Chat, the popular smartphone application based in China. But bitcoin, he said, was an affliction of “everyone [wanting] easy money,” and “[hoped] to God” the future generation doesn’t embrace it, as it is “totally asinine.”
Furthermore,
For seasoned investors such as Mr. Munger, bitcoin is too abstract. Its lack of fundamentals as Mr. Munger understands them – no corporate offices, no accountable board, no large regulatory apparatus, etc. – can only spell bitcoin’s doom.

Based on the above submissions by This old generation guru, is this not a proof that there is a gap between old and new? The old successful business gurus and the new generation thinkers like @ned & @dan? little wonder last week, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Christopher Giancarlo during the Senate hearing in his own remarks asserted that;
“We owe it to this new generation to respect their enthusiasm for virtual currencies, with a thoughtful and balance response, and not a dismissive one,”
This very submission by Giancarlo deeply hurts haters of crypto like Mr. Munger et al who bluntly does not respect the enthusiasm of this innovative new generation of crypto lovers. Well, that is my own view. My question is, do you agree with Mr. Munger that "Bitcoin Is Disgusting, Detestable, Noxious Poison" and cops should be unleached on Bitcoin" and of course in extension all cryptocurrencies including our dear steem.

Hahaha, it is indeed poison, for their sick, manipulated and unfair system. Ones this poison kills these cockroaches the world will be a much better place. Bitcoin is a perfect tool to see if organizations want the best for humanity: The ones that support BTC want the best for humanity and the ones that deny it are parasites that are filling their pockets at the moment on the expense of normal people, and are afraid to be not able to do that anymore.
Wow. That is a harsh reality though . Don't you think if they invest, they will make more money off btc ?
thats a simple rule of the more ppl invest the more the investors can make.
if btc = best for humanity i'd better give up now and top myself...
Explain further how you do that
When it comes down to it, Munger's comments refect how little he knows of bitcoin. Further, with blockchain applications you can automate and make obsolete jobs like
It's just ever clear that when you don't do your research, you look like an idiot. Blockchains are designed to regulate themselves, which means less bureaucracy and more efficiency... but im preaching to the choir here...
Sure. And they only think in one direction. Kill decentralized poisonous blockchain
i think they also have a reputation concern which they feel is threatened by bitcoin. wolf of wall st keeps saying BTC is a scam bc he is scared of going back to jail ahahah

94 year old bashing Bitcoin. Move along people. Nothing to see here lol.

Ok but why so good?
maybe he's talking about his post count trollolol
there was never a coherent plan, meaningful strategy or sense of purpose behind bitcoin. so, it has gone through many transitions and changes with the name bitcoin still standing as a brand name and trademark for god knows what any more. obnoxious poison it has become, yes.
But answer me. If obnoxious poison as you people claim, then what will you Cal other ones coming after Bitcoin ? That same poison has brought hope and wealth to many who would have been hopeless if not for the poison of BTC. What do you say to them?
There are truly a lot of shitcoins and scams out there, which is maybe where these old farts see their assertion ringing true. A lot of well-meaning and a lot of greed-stricken people have built the modern banking system for a combination of senseless money making and consumer protection, which obviously have a lot of conflict. I think their narrative is placing too much optimism in the "good of the system."
Anyone who does any modicum of research can see that the western monetary system has spread like a cancer (literally) across the world making massive inequalities and countless wars for the sake of profit, but, tangentially, it is important to recognize that for every Columbus (genocidal, gold-addicted maniac) there was a Bartolome de las Casas (compassionate peace seeker)
Very good point and references you raised here.
I think there was. The true plan can be seen as a troll attempt. Bitcoin has its face value which we all read in the whitepaper. But the real value is in between the lines. In a proper troll, you are inputting a narrative to have others chaos over it. I'm sure the creator(s) of Bitcoin had motives beyond what they wrote in the whitepaper to DISRUPT the mainstream order of things.
Everyone knows blockchain is the gold in bitcoin. It is the innovative backbone. Did every vertebrate that ever lived last until today? No, experimentation yields failures, but nonetheless incrementally drives progress.
What do you say of this current trend of volatility in the market. Updated on some reasons today.
it goes further. coming from a controls background, a big signal with little control has a lot of noise. if the right dampening mechanisms are in place the noise will be captured. trading off volatility captures noise. you make money bc you stabilize the market.
i think the average education of the bitcoin holder is less than in forex, for example lolol i refrained from the pun for clarity youre welcome
@kenhudoy i think the current market volatility is a sign of this new species of finacial instrument and due to a distribution of hands not seen before. I do believe that there are some large institutional players trying to play thearket and test it for robustness, and at the same time we have a lot of people like us who are trying to participate in the liberation of money.
those are two major groups. Of course there are countless like and unique groups of people with different motives at play. There are many people who dont care how they make money, dont care how blockchain helps the world, and are just in crypto markets to make money, so that being said, the volatility i think is a matter of overinflated sentiment caused by some large volume trades early on. im not by my desktop now but if you look at any coin which participated in the BTC run up to 20k and use the Visible Range indicator, you can see the majority of volume is below 10k. the rest was just the market getting ahead of itself, hence correcting itself.
Now, there are all the people who got shit on at the top who are invested in the market coming back... sorry for the length. ill try to get a chart up here later
And the further you look back, of course since it is volume in the image, you can see the run-up's volume doesnt compare to the cumulative. It's a matter of saying how much cumulative data back is relevant.
Here's the 1 year view:
Is true that is difficult to point out the plan of bitcoin, but it has come to stay. No matter what the haters are doing bitcoin will continue to do well.
Sure. I agree.
Not to mention they all got rich off the Rothschild method of screwing over entire nations through deception.. Of course they would be threatened by the idea of them losing their positions of the oppressors in an oppressive relationship... Pedagogy of the Oppressed theme No. 1 lol
