Before you leave the Trump train, please considur
I'm not a Trump supporter. I do agree with some of his policies and statements but I will never call myself a Trump supporter. While I do feel like he was slowly moved to represent a more pro-establishment president, which is a contrast to the anti-establishment nationalist candidate in 2016, I will have to say, until there is a good alternative to Trump in the political arena, I will still consider him the only good presidential candidate so far. Yes, I know that you feel betrayed, yes I know that you want change, yes I know that you got what seems like just another neocon in the presidential office after voting for that same guy while he was still an outspoken American nationalist liberal-triggering tweet-posting provocateur, and honestly I feel the same way too. But before you go off to the polling station and vote for Andrew Yang or Tulsi Gabbard, please consider.
Most people currently in the 2020 race are either full blown socialists um, sorry, "DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS", or are pretty close to being so. However, there are two that stick out, and those are Andrew Yang, and Tulsi Gabbard.
Andrew Yang seems to be definitely a weird one I'll admit, I do agree with some of his policies. He's actually a pretty centered candidate, and it makes sense why do so many former Trump supporters support him. While he doesn't support a border wall, he does support increased security on the border, and instead of deporting all 11 million illegal immigrants in the US, He would like to give them a path to citizenship, while still reflecting on the fact that they came into the country illegally. His gun control policy is actually pretty good. Essentially, he plans to make a drivers license type system, where gun owners have to have a license to be able to own a gun, just like with cars. While there are definitely question about how exactly is the license going to be enforced, the kind of policy isn't really that bad, and he might gain some support from the pro-gun right, although I wouldn't really count on them. However, his most popular policy is Universal basic income, or the freedom dividend, which is going to be funded by Value added tax. This drawn criticism, mainly because of the damage more taxes would have on the economy. This might make the economic conservatives want to stick with Trump, as well as many of the working class who got Trump elected in the first places because they don't want any more taxes no matter how they're called.
Tulsi Gabbard isn't really that much different from other democrats, except of her anti-war policies, and her trust in the Mueller report, which she originally sponsored. However on the issues of immigration and gun control, she isn't really that different from her fellow democrats. While she definitely is an option, it's very unlikely that any Trump supporter would like to vote for her.
But... This doesn't even matter! Why do I say this you might ask? Well, since only real candidates that the former Trump supporters will vote for are Andrew Yang and Tulsi Gabbard, who are very far from the democrat orthodoxy, there's a big chance that, just like with Bernie Sanders in 2016, The DNC decides to rig the election in the favor of a more mainstream candidate like Elizabeth Warren or Joe Biden. Either ways there's a very low chance that either Tulsi or Yang will win the nomination, so... Those that are dreaming of that %1000 per month paycheck or seeing all troops go from Syria back to the US in a snap? Don't hold your breath. I'd bet that most of you will vote for Trump in 2020, no matter what his opponent will be. See you back on the Trump train, my fellas.
