The Reason Millenials Are Losing Their Minds Over Trump

in #trump8 years ago (edited)

Millenials have been hearing for most of their teen and adult life a fairy tale, carefully crafted by the democratic establishment. Trump represents confrontation, toughness and the raw power that comes to overthrow the status-quo that made them feel so comfy. His rise to power comes as wrecking ball, smashing down their fragile world view.

Words like sexism, racism, misogyny, inequality, selfishness have become banners for the establishment to propagate its message to the millennials. Thing is, even the early fools that supported these empty ideas, slowly came to understand that they were all a big fat lie. This is why many people decided to vote against the liberal paranoia even if they were giving rise to a flashy arrogant conservative prick.

Millennials are comprised mostly of college students, or rather college tourists. Most of them cannot handle the truth that colleges and universities have become liberal kingdoms for their bullshit. They cannot accept the fact that mommy’s and daddy’s money simply fund their lucrative 4 year fantasies of sex and booze in an academic looking environment.

These entitled snowflakes hold the belief that they "study" their “dreams” is their “safe space” even though most of what they do has nothing to do with the needs of the real world. They get bogus grants and funds from a heavily taxed system that has indebted them to their own bullshit. And for what? To award them a title that ended up today meaning next nothing since everybody holds the exact same valued degree for the exact same mediocre (at best) quality.

Funny how "education for all" equality is detrimental when applied to the real world. When everyone holds the same value, nobody is worth anything. Millenials have asked for it and now they blame "the system" for the consequences. They forget that they are the system and that themselves are solely responsible for this clusterfuck

Most Ph.D & Post-Docs, the glorious spawns of the academic atrocity, are slaving away with bullshit research programs that nobody in the real world cares about. They are piling up bogus publications as if numbers matter in respect to quality. They hope to attain an assistant professor position since in their liberally crafted world it is considered a lucrative title. They forget that their fragile safe-space is governed more or less by kingship and that for one position to open another one has to die out. This is afterall what perpetuates this culture of willingful ignorance that gives rise to entitled pricks that think they know how the real world works.

Universities have become nothing more than child care programs for incompetent young adults... and then millennials wonder why PhD’s end up cleaning tables and serving coffees for a living.

Academia itself has slowly become bankrupt because of this pedantic culture. Universities around the world pop like mushrooms since we have come to believe that competence and knowledge can be certified by an institution's name that signs our name in a fancy paper with a flashy typeface.

The vast majority of Universities stopped caring about producing real world research, replicating studies and pursuing innovation. They rather focus on how to create a vacational experience for young adults who just want to drink, fuck and maybe study a little. Through the dynamics of the free market the new generation has dug up its own grave by creating a self-destructive, easy going culture.

It becomes even more tragic because they believe that this is how the real world works after they leave the safe-spaced university. Their numbers have become so massive, it has created a whole new demographic of pricks that demand everyone else to cater to their needs. No wonder Trump scares the shit out of them. They know that if they are not worthy they will be rejected.

The comfort of the safe-space university, reinforced by the safe-space culture of the social media, has sculpted in time a sense of entitlement and smugness for young adults that expect society to cater for them just because they happen to exist. Trump represents the harsh realities of the real world and this is why many of them are going hysterical about it. It’s like someone came and said to them that the era of "free" has come to an end.

I am a millennial... OUCH!

Lol
But I agree with you, I'm actually so embarrassed of my peers that I want to hide in the corner and lie about my age. I feel like I am an exception to the bulk of millennials.

I don't get how we turned into such entitled brats. Maybe we didn't learn the proper skills growing up, We desperately want to change our environment, We don't want to see people starving and without an education. But at the same time giving it for "free" isn't a choice. Like you said, it takes out the special part of it. Then having this "education" becomes worthless.

You have to work hard in life to get what you want. Sometimes you lose... Sometimes you fail.. and sometimes Donald Trump becomes president.

Sure, Trump wasn't my ideal president. I wanted the third Party Gary Johnson to win. But I'm not crying and throwing a giant tantrum over it. Instead I'm looking at some of the positive things that Trump CAN bring to the table. Because everyone has something to offer. What many people my age don't realize is that Trump is going to make things MORE FAIR. By reducing the tax on the rich and middle class, Which will enable the rich to offer more jobs and grow their businesses. For the sake of the economy I feel like Trump is a decent pick. I disagree with him with a lot of things, But I know what he is going to do will probably work it's self out.

It amazes me that millennials can't handle being wrong, Can't handle losing. Instead of doing something different, Or taking responsibility, They blame the system. If they wanted Hillary to win so bad, Why weren't they walking down the street holding signs? Why weren't they trying harder to promote her?

I love this post! Im embarrassed at my peers right now, But it's so true.

Funny thing, the people that are the most pissed about Hillary losing(in my xp) and are even blaming non-voters for the loss, are older than me, like Vietnam era age. This election accomplished one thing without question, it highlighted just how delusional and mindless this society has become.

Trump is a bitchslap back to reality. I am actually enjoying how the whole thing is turning out.

I know right? I mean, I advocated that Hillary would hasten us to more dissent and abandonment of the 'state'. But this Trump thing will be amusing, to say the least. Gotta invest in popcorn shares.

Most definitely. The news media will be the best source of entertainment. it would be like watching president Camacho

I disagree with every fiber of my being with regards to every point of your post.

In context of Trump's 100 Day Plan and his proposed First Amendment Defense Act, it is (not like or as) that Trump came and promised limited freedom for especially the LGBT+ community.

Also, millennials birth dates go as early as 1982 depending on who you ask, so where are you getting your information that "most millennials" are in college? The sheer time of the matter would suggest that most millennials are not in college.

Millenials indeed go as back as 1982 but they are the yound adults of today (up to 40 year olds) who really ar the heart and soul of society.

We do have many of them in colleges still as phd and post-docs

When I think that we gonna depend some day in the future on this generation....
Let me put this, simple way : scary
Waiting and enjoy your post ; as usual.

It's going to be wonderful. We will finally get to clean up the mess the boomers have created.

Great post! Sadly a lot of this is true...

thank you mate. glad you enjoyed it.

Great post that faces the brutal opinions of so many. You have my vote, but more importantly, you have gained a follower.

Could this be worse in the USA as opposed to Europe because of campus universities and the high-school system? In The Netherlands, students live in the cities and a great many have small jobs because financing is tight unless your parents are rich. Also, our educational system is more elitarist in the sense that if you don't make it through our secundary education at the highest level (called VWO), no amount of money will get you into university.

I am actually European. Many people from my country study in the U.K. There you basically pay for education.

I am also writing this from experience. I used to write thesis for students who were lazy. I was getting pretty good money out of it. Its rather ridiculous since most of them just pay their way through and then come back to my country and get a government position. (which is basically early retirement).

I didn't realise it was that bad in the UK. Harder to get away with in The Netherlands, because of entry standards and academic student monitoring (people are actually asked to leave if they underperform). Also I couldn't have survived the exam committee's grilling if I hadn't written my thesis myself, but that was some time ago. Also, Dutch universities have better table tennis teams 8-).
When it comes to PhDs, it is just as much a factory here as elsewhere, even in the engineering sciences. €93000 a pop goes to the university for each dissertation. Oh well.
I see people of my age reverting to their good old European title of "ir." or "Dipl. Ing." rather than the more "modern" "MSc", just to give a hint about what they think of international title inflation. Some drop the title altogether.

Yeap, It's rather ridiculous. I never use my Ph.D title either. it's a joke

Heh, sounds like my college experience blah blah blah years ago. That's probably why I dropped out and encouraged my sons to learn marketable skills rather than pursuing degrees.
Great piece. Good insight and a few lulz. I couldn't vote for either of these... erm... candidates... but am enjoying the show.
