This escalation is very disturbing. Mainstream media reaction has been fairly predictable, but I wonder what the people of the US, UK and France think. Seems to me that public opinion is not as easy to manipulate by the billionaire print media, BBC etc in these days of greater enlightenment. Will there be a backlash that those in power are not anticipating? For May, I think this is just another pitiful miscalculation coming on the back of a whole string of them.
