[Rant Alert] "Forward" thinking Trump is an anti-Semite.

Yes, I know. I probably should not read anything from the Forward because it is bad for my blood pressure. But, on the other hand, I need to know what the idiots are saying.

This one is labelled 'opinion' - it sure as hell is not reporting. It is a caricature of how to bend the facts to your own predetermined reality. With the Forward these days it is one pathetic disgrace after another.

So Trump gives a speech in which he bemoans the decay of our cultural heritage and blames insidious Marxism. I can relate completely. But this brilliant reporter/columnist sees a definite connection in this to anti-Semitism and, therefore, confidently concludes that Trump, by evidence of these "dog whistles" is an anti-Semite.

So let's get this straight. BLM, Antifa, and company brazenly yell out violent anti-Semitic slogans - F*** the cops, f*** the Jews, while AOC and company blow loud dog whistles of their own, but Trump is the anti-Semite we should worry about. Of course it doesn't matter that his daughter and son-in-law advisor are orthodox Jews (I am told you can still be anti-Semitic in this case). Really?

Now Trump may be an anti-Semite. More likely he is an equal opportunity bigot. He does not hate any particular group. He basically tolerates all individuals whom he regards as useful to him - regardless of their characteristics. And his opinions on the actual nature of these groups probably bears only remote connection to the facts. But, I doubt that he is a classic, considered, anti-Semite. He has enough character flaws. We don't need to manufacture another one - unless of course your liberal agenda depends on it.

On the other hand. the anti-Semitism now emanating daily from the left is obvious, explosive and has clear connections to Marxist ideology that stigmatizes capitalism as the root of all evil and the Jews as the big-nosed manipulators-in-chief of the capitalist system.

A much more obvious inference from what Trump actually said is that he was vilifying the left for these very things.
