The best evidence that Trump has fully consumed the GOP is how he even is getting his way on the abortion section of the party platform.

As the Times notes the abortion stance is going from calling for a federal abortion ban to now saying it is up to the states.

He's also made them change the platform regarding marriage being between a man and woman, their desire to cut Social Security and Medicare, and on reducing the national debt.

The platform is less the GOP's policy platform and rather an effort to win the election.

"The abortion section has been softened. There is no longer a reference to “traditional marriage” as between “one man and one woman.” And there is no longer an emphasis on reducing the national debt, only a brief line about “slashing wasteful government spending.”"

Anyone with half a brain will know this is all just transparent bullshit. But it says so much about Trump's command of the party at this point. Heck Lara Trump is head of the RNC now.
