What Do South Koreans Think Of The Inter-Korea Summit

in #trump6 years ago (edited)

If you’re reading this, chances are that you 1) do not live under a rock, and 2) know that Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un just met for the first ever meeting between a sitting US president and a North Korean dictator. Now, that’s obviously a pretty big deal, for not only America and North Korea, but also for South Korea (not to mention a host of other countries invested in the Korean Peninsula).

But let’s not forget that not long ago, the world witnessed another piece of history that struck particularly close to home for Koreans on both sides of the border when Kim Jong-Un and President formally met for the first time. So in order to fully process today’s meeting between Trump and Kim, we thought it necessary to revisit the day of the historic Inter-Korea Summit.

We would hate to bore you with the same footage that major media outlets played on loop for hours on end. But what we are interested in is what the people of South Korea had to say about the Inter-Korea Summit just 6 short weeks ago.

How did South Koreans feel watching Kim set foot on South Korean territory? What are South Koreans’ expectations from this Inter-Korea Summit? Check out this video for answers to these questions and more.

Once you’ve watched the video, let us know your answer to this: Now that some time has passed, do you think that South Koreans’ expectations for the Inter-Korean Summit are being met? Leave your opinion below!
