Comey told Sen. Grassley that the president is not being investigated.
Republican Senator Chuck Grassley and Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein had written a letter to James Comey to request a briefing "on certain topics" and Feinstein spoke on camera after said briefing. "This briefing was all on sensitive matters and highly classified." She was clearly visibly shaken and I have an idea why. I read a prepared statement by Sen. Chuck Grassley on his own .gov website and this excerpt caught my attention.
"Shortly after Director Comey briefed us, I tweeted that he should be transparent. I said he should tell the public what he told Senator Feinstein and me about whether the FBI is or is not investigating the President.
On Tuesday, the President’s letter said that Director Comey told him he was not under investigation. Senator Feinstein and I heard nothing that contradicted the President’s statement. "
So clearly, anyone can deduce from this statement that Trump is not under investigation for the Russian involvement in 2016 US presidential election. Yet, like a dog with a bone, it seems that Democrats are using all of their resources to go after Trump in their ultimate goal that results in his impeachment.
Of course, they could try to do something that at least resembles bipartisanship like actually take a look at the travel ban that the president tried to enact. I love how democrats always seem to forget the fact that this supposed "Muslim ban" was derived from the “Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015," which was created by the Obama administration as a response to the San Bernardino attack at that time. Of course, if Trump's name is behind it, democrats treat it as something that was proposed by the anti-Christ.
It seems more and more apparent every day that even though Trump has been named our 45th Commander in Chief, democrats are doing everything in their power to undermine his presidency in any way possible. Yes, I agree that he wasn't democratically elected. He was constitutionally elected. Under the Constitution of the United States, he won the presidency. It doesn't surprise me though, that more than half of this country is unaware that the United States is not a Democracy and that it is in fact a Republic.
