Teaching of Isaiah: Tell those who disobey, ´You're in big trouble—what you did to others will come back to you.´ Isaiah 3:11

Men live in a universe governed by ethical laws, the prophet Isaiah gave as a teaching in his first book, and it is for this reason that there are behaviors ordered to blessing and others to curse. No one, no matter how intelligent, can escape the results of his own actions, what is given to others is what is received; and at this point, the prophet's thought coincides with the teaching of the sapiential books such as the Book of Proverbs, Wisdom, and Ecclesiastes. The mission of a prophet is not only to reveal the word of God but also to give science and knowledge.
And so the prophet wrote with wisdom in one of his oracles:
"Tell those who obey God,
´You're very fortunate—
you will be rewarded
for what you have done.´
Tell those who disobey,
´You're in big trouble—
what you did to others
will come back to you.´" Isaiah 3:10-11.
The prophet taught this spiritual truth to the Israelites during the time of Ahaz and Hezekiah who were kings of Judah. And the prophet did this with a very clear intention, the Kingdom of Assyria had destroyed the Northern Kingdom of Israel, and with this, only the Kingdom of Judah remained in the face of the expansion plans of the Assyrian empire. It was only a matter of time before a king of Judah would have to face the full oppression of Assyrian tyranny, which finally happened with King Hezekiah.
With his wisdom and foresight, the prophet Isaiah helped Hezekiah, a God-fearing king, to stop the tyrant Shalmaneser from besieging and taking the holy city of Jerusalem, thus postponing God's judgment on the kingdom of Judah for a time, Isaiah was not only a prophet but also a skilled politician. Isaiah also was aware that many Israelites had abandoned the covenant with God imitating the customs of many idolatrous nations, and that if a change of heart did not occur in the simple and ordinary people, destruction would come sooner or later, there is no blessing for those who follow the path of error. The teachings of Isaiah are a reminder that the words of a prophet are beyond any personal selfishness, and that these must always be taken into account in the spiritual warfare.
