Fire hydrants and their meaning
It's March! Some countries consider the Month of March as the hottest month of the year. Also Fire prevention month practices are on going. Fire hydrats are being checked for it to be of good use in case needed.
I have noticed that fire hydrants have different colors though. Let's check what each color meant.

Each color that we will be discussing actually represents different Gallon for Minute or GPM.
The higher the GPM, the higher chance it can help large fires.
RED
It has 500 gallons per minute or less.
ORANGE
Is next to Red. it contain 500 to 1,000 gallons per minute.
GREEN
On the other hand can flush water up to 1, 500 gallons per minute.
BLUE
Blue, among all stores greater volume of water. It has a minimum of 1,500 gallons per minute.
Although, some color do not always follow the same coding. Some colors refer to other information more than gallons of water it contains.
YELLOW
Like this one, it means that the water it has comes from a pipe underground which is a public water system.
VIOLET
Gets water supplies from river, ponds or lakes.
When all these sounds pale to some areas, they create their own color coding.
And since people are very creative, why not paint them on any way the neighborhood wants. For some, ti was even worth having as part of the celebration.
The most common color of fire hydrants is red. Logistically, because red easily capture's attention. So when fire hydrants is needed, it will be less difficult for the fire fighters or anyone knowledgeable about the how to use of such.
Now we know that these are not just city decorations, though it's classic look makes it one Instagram worthy subject.
Above anything, consider it's noble purpose. they are for fires. Keep them in good working condition and available for accident's immediate use.
