Where Should it Go?

The Steem blockchain has seen a lot of ups and downs recently.

A lot of FUD mixed in with a lot of real things happening on the blockchain.

I'm as optimistic about the future of Steem as ever. The only issues I have are how we get to that amazing and bright future of empowering both content creators and entrepreneurs creating DApp platforms.

The problem I have is that Steemit has too much power and too much influence over the Steem blockchain.

I'm not arguing that Steemit is irrelevant and unimportant. I believe that we strongly needed them to get to this point.

But now is the time to shift the power and influence of Steemit to the hands of the individuals and to the hands of the DApps building on the blockchain.

The push is for more decentralization and less reliance on Steemit, inc. to do the dirty work.

Steemit, inc. and Ned have shown us that they are not capable of realizing the full potential of the Steem blockchain. It's not to say that they are bad at what they do, it's saying that this thing has grown beyond their capacity.

They are not able to continue forward with the dream of empowering 10's of thousands of entrepreneurs to create amazing DApps on this blockchain.

And thus, I urge you to strongly look into DApps and find ways to support them.

Projects like Partiko, Steem Monsters, Steem Plus, Steempeak, Actifit and more are the projects that should be focused on building their user base and expanding their apps for more features and onboarding.

Then we must community source blockchain development on things like SMTs (already in the works by someone named Fulltimegeek, by the way).

This is a blockchain. This is supposed to be a decentralized platform. We've gotten away from that in our reliance on Steemit, Inc and if we want to make this blockchain everything it can be, we must move back to that, immediately!
