Becoming the Best At What You Do

Oftentimes becoming the best at what you do is as simple as being completely obsessed with whatever it is that you're trying to succeed at.

I'm reading a collection of Sherlock Holmes right now and in the book, Watson was describing how Sherlock has this insane capacity for knowledge about past crimes, who committed them and many other details about them.

Though Sherlock has limited knowledge of things like the solar system (he claims that knowledge of such things has no direct impact on his lifestyle as a consulting detective and thus, he'd rather fill his mind with things that help him with his profession).

How can this be applied to your life or mine?

I think it's application lies in whatever it is that you're trying to get good at.. If you're trying to be a successful investor, then you should be obsessed with past cases of good investments and good investors. You should seek to learn the patterns of what makes a good investor/investment.

You should be absolutely obsessed with investing and learn everything possible about investing. You should read every book on investing you can get your hands on. You should study every case file of markets and how they work. You should understand the mindset of the average investor versus the informed investor.

The list goes on. But as you can see, this is not something to be garnered over 1 day, 1 year or even 10 years. This is something to work on for a lifetime.

Another thing to take away from Holmes' teachings here is focus. If you want to become a master at something, you have to be able to completely focus on it, even if it means cutting out other, unnecessary things, as tempting or interesting as they may be.

A lot of famous CEOs said the same in recent history. In fact, we do say people who want to start blogging the same. "Just find your niche and focus on it."

@triptolemus i am working in this online earning field from last 3 years but till today i met with lots of scam and all but never got success in this field what is the reason behind this can you please provide some tips as you have written some blogs on this topic???
