Tarsus City Gate -Cleopetra Gate
Cleopetra Gate is located in the town Center of Tarsus.
This is a must go to place as it has history significance.
Drive down on the main road of Tarsus as there is only one main street.
You will recognize it when you get here.
Driving along this road will lead you to the town center where you will see the City gate in your left.
This part of town is quite busy.
There are fountains built along the main road to lead you to the City Gate.
You will also see the Turkey Flag on one of the side wall.
Why is it called Cleopetra gate?
It was built to commemorate Cleopetra entering Tarsus via the port gate here.
Quite a big event back in those days.
In the Middle ages, the gate was rebuilt by the Byzantine Empire.
Spend a couple of hours strolling the park nearby.
